On April 2, 2024, I had what was quite possibly the most enjoyable car buying experience ever at Luther Kia of Inver Grove. I’ve bought over half a dozen different makes of cars over my lifetime, two of them new, but I’ve never felt quite as comfortable as I did with this purchase. I’d been looking at the Kia EV9 but needed to see how it handled in a test drive. We chose Luther Kia of Inver Grove partly because it had the trim level EV9 that I wanted (GT-Line) and partly because we’d had recent experience with another Luther dealership in the Twin Cities, which went above and beyond to make sure my son was happy with his new-to-him car. I felt very comfortable staying in the Luther family of dealerships. My partner and I walked in without an appointment and were immediately greeted enthusiastically by Jovonie Wilson. I was thrilled because, on another website the day before, I’d read reviews of various salespeople and Jovonie frequently came out on top. Now I know why! (And it’s well-deserved.) He took us back to his desk and we talked about availability, color, and got set up for a test drive. As we were filling out some of the initial paperwork, he regaled us with humorous (anonymous) stories about other sales experiences he’d had, including one that had me laughing so hard I nearly fell out of my chair. Jovonie had to go out to the far lot to bring the EV up to the entrance and then we were off on a test drive. It was the first time I’d ever driven an electric vehicle and Jovonie walked me through the basics. This vehicle drove like a dream! Since I’d already narrowed down my search and the EV9 was at the top, the test drive clinched it. Jovonie introduced us to Nic Johnson, and we were off to the financial part while Jovonie got the car detailed for us to take home that same day! Nic was easy to talk to and clear in his explanations (including how many forms we had to sign!), and it wasn’t long before it was a done deal. Nic also shared some funny stories and made his part of the pruchase equally fun. Throughout this whole process, there was zero stress. Jovonie went through a more detailed explanation of the EV9’s features (is it a car or a spaceship?) and helped set up the safety precautions on the infotainment screen. He made sure we had a printed manual as well, along with a V2L adapter, and a level 1 charging cable, which allowed us to start charging it from a regular outlet in our garage when we got home. (We soon had a level 2 charger installed.) Jovonie pointed out where the rear corner panel had been scratched when it came off the truck, and said they’d repaint it at no cost. True to his word, after I had PPF installed on the front end, they took it to their collision center and when they were done, it was impossible to tell that there’d ever been scratches. I’ve now driven this vehicle over 650 miles and I could not be happier with it and the entire purchase experience. Five stars all around!

The service department is terrific. I have been treated so well there. At a recent scheduled service appointment they found another problem and went to bat for me to receive warranty coverage. It's clear that customer satisfaction is their first priority. I overheard two advisors hyping each other up about that idea first thing in the morning WITHOUT IRONY. I saw them being very kind, not patronizing, to another customer who was anxious. I knew something about what their car needed and the advisor was being more than fair. The work they have done on my car has been great and on time. Explanations have been clear and honest. I won't go anywhere else.

Nice to find a staff that is willing to make things right. I bought a KIA at another dealership but this dealership is the closest to home for me. Nick in the financing dept has been exceptional to work with. After discovering that a policy had changed he went ahead and honored what he had told me. Then when the car was getting a 3M clear bra put on it they discovered that the dealership I bought it at had repainted the front bumper and neither of us knew that. The 3M product peeled the new clear coat and they fixed it on their own with no out of pocket cost to me, or w/o me asking. These days I always feel like people want you to pay for your mistakes and also want you to pay when it was their mistake. I was pleasantly surprise both times. Thank You!
