Not detailing a vehicle before selling it is GROSS and unprofessional as a well known dealership. Our salesman was knowledgeable and kind. He informed us the salesmen are paid salary so they can keep their prices low. My thought is they must make their money on the back-end by jacking up the interest rates because our bank came back with a much lower number. This is speculation as I have no proof because I did not see the original bank offer. They took the vehicle off their listing page when we allowed them to run our numbers. When we informed them we would be going through our own bank, they immediately relisted the vehicle stating we would have to make a $500 deposit to hold it due to “policy”. One of the dealership owners was a part of this deal who could have given us the same courtesy we did them. Thankfully, the vehicle did not sell in the few hours it took our bank to approve the deal at the rate we expected. When we traded in our Jeep Trailhawk, it was completely full of gas. It is not in their “policy” to put any gas in your purchase so this is my encouragement for all of you to empty your tanks on your trade-in because you will not be reimbursed in any way for that!! Just for the record, Honda dealerships will often send you out the door with a full tank! There is a new car buyer event coming up to which I hope this dealership can redeem themselves (full detail at the least/gas card or some kind of reimbursement for the full tank we gave them). The two stars they did get are for the final price of the vehicle and the lifetime warranty. If you can get past the details that made me crazy, this is a good place to buy a vehicle. They also gave us the trade-in value we expected. I will update my review after the new car buyer event! ********************************************* REVIEW UPDATE: I started this review with two stars. I had to add 2 more due to the stellar service when we returned to the dealership to tie up loose ends. Our vehicle received a two hour detail complete with oil change and fluid fill ups. I cannot in good faith give a full 5 stars due to the inconsideration we were given even we were running our own numbers. Overall so far, I would say this is in the top 3 chain dealerships in Ohio! I’m looking forward to the new car buyer appreciation day!
I bought my 2018 Buick encore through the vandevere Chevy location. After everything was said and done with the purchase of the vehicle, I’m not sure I would recommend it. After purchase, I was charged for my first two oil changes, in which I had 3 covered by my agreement. I also had to flush my transmission fluid on one of those visits in order to keep their “forever warranty” valid (approx $250). About a year after purchase, my car broke down on the highway (not covered by warranty - $1200). **please be aware that they charge credit cards a 3% convenience fee on all purchases. Please bring your debit card/cash to avoid this** The tech of my most recent oil change found a few leaks and a couple things needing replaced. The reason I am rating so highly is because of Justin, in the service department. This guy deserves a raise. He worked with me on getting EVERYTHING submitted and covered by the warranty company for this round of service (even a rental vehicle!). He promptly responded to my inquires and provided updates while they were working on my car - 3 days. He alone deserves the stars of this review.
