This is a review for the Service Department within the Land Rover of Boise, Idaho. It wouldn’t be any 3K mile trip for us, if we did t get some type of warning light. This trip it was the ‘Check Engine Coolant’ level light. Granted it only lit up when we drove up hills, as the coolant moved away from the sensor, triggering the light and when the car was in flat road or going downhill, no light. That gave me some comfort, however the coolant was below the minimum line and we were doing 700 mile days with lots of elevation change and doing over 70mph constant speeds. I needed to ensure my engine stayed filled with coolant. We constantly monitored the existing low level of coolant and it did not change and seemed to be stable during our Sunday of stressed driving. We showed up Monday morning at 7:40am, right after they opened, no appointment, but a hope and a dream to be topped off with coolant. Upon walking into the service office, we were pointed towards a Service Advisor, Daniel. I explained what was going on, and Daniel grabbed some coolant, a funnel and came on over to check out my car. He himself did a quick visual inspection of the engine to see if he could spot any leaks, and helped point out that there was nothing fresh, but did see something that should be looked at when we got back to LA; either dried coolant or mud; but knowing that coolant levels went dropping, we were confident that a top up is all that was needed. Daniel also was very encouraging when I showed him my ‘low level’ and rest assured me, that really wasn’t that low. We allowed the car to be cooled off, before being topped up; I did end up buying coolant from the parts department as a thank you. (Didn’t need to use it for the rest of the trip, but glad I have it for future ones). The topping up, the quick inspection; all of that done for free, with a smile and such kind feedback. And I really appreciate that it was the service advisor who did it all for us! What a champ. Also. The cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen. Thanks again for getting us back on the road quickly!
