1992 Dodge Viper RT/10 Why It's So Special The 1992 Viper RT/10 isn't just another '90s sports car it?s the raw rebirth of American performance. Only 8000 Original miles, Clean PA title-The Return of the American Supercar When the Viper debuted, it shocked the industry. At a time when performance cars were getting heavier and more refined, Dodge went the opposite direction: no compromises, no apologies . It was inspired by the classic Shelby Cobra formula: massive engine, lightweight body, minimal creature comforts. Brutal Power (For Its Time) 8.0L V10 developed with help from Lamborghini (then owned by Chrysler) 400 horsepower 465 lb-ft of torque 060 mph in about 4.5 seconds Top speed around 165 mph In 1992, those numbers were supercar territory competing with exotics costing far more. Raw, No-Nonsense Driving Experience The early RT/10 models were famously stripped down: No exterior door handles No real windows (snap-in side curtains) No air conditioning No airbags No traction control No ABS It had side-exit exhaust that would cook your legs and a driving experience that demanded respect. It wasn?t refined it was intense . Limited Production Only about 285 units were produced for 1992 , making first-year cars especially collectible. Early VIN cars and original-condition examples are highly sought after today. Built as a Statement The Viper made its public debut as a pace car at the Indianapolis 500 , instantly putting it in front of millions of fans. It symbolized Dodge proving America could build a world-class performance car again. Collectibility First-year cars typically command a premium because: They?re the purest version Lowest production numbers Historical significance as the launch year Increasing nostalgia for 1990s performance cars Why It Matters Today The 1992 Viper RT/10 represents something we don?t get anymore: No driver aids Massive displacement Manual transmission only Analog, aggressive, unapologetic design Watch the Video! This thing is FUN!!!! It's one of the last truly wild, mechanical American sports cars, Free from any accidents! Only 4 previous collectors. Outstanding experience with MGM and Earl! I have been chasing a 1969 Mach 1 my whole life. I am active duty Army and bought my mustang from overseas and had it shipped to my home of record in Washington State without any issues. I didn’t tell my wife I bought this. I thought she was gonna divorce me when she found out, but all is well. It took about a month from the time I decided to buy, get the bank to loan me money, process the funds, mgm tendered the truck company to ship. All that said, MGM and especially Earl are very responsive and incredibly professional. Highly recommend them, I plan on buying from them again. But am going to tell my wife first next time.
Just got our Impala delivered to our doorstep in California from MGM and have to say I am extremely happy with my purchase. Definitely recommend covered transport as it arrived spotless. Pete and Tom were fantastic and I really appreciate their quick responses. This was my first time buying sight-unseen but the process was smooth and they are very transparent with cars they sell, what more could you ask for. Thanks guys for helping my wife and I obtain our dream car!
If you are a serious buyer, MGM is the company to buy from. I purchased a 1975 Corvette for my son. He loves it! Working with MGM (Pete/Tom) was phenomenal. Easy transaction and car was delivered to CA within 7 days. Out of town buyers dont hesitate! MGM will answer all your questions and send pics/videos. I will be a repeat customer.
