Dealer's notes

About 2018 Ford Escape The Ford Escape has a confident, rugged persona. The hood and raised trapezoidal upper set a wider stance evoking a more prominent feel. The 2018 Ford Escape is the first Ford vehicle to make Auto Start/Stop technology standard with either of two EcoBoost engines -- a 1.5-liter EcoBoost and a 2.0-liter twin-scroll turbocharged EcoBoost. Auto Start/Stop technology shuts off the engine during common stops, so the vehicle burns no gas and emits zero tailpipe emissions. Base models are powered by a 2.5-liter i-VCT four-cylinder engine. Auto Start/Stop system senses when a vehicle is sitting idle and shuts off the engine to conserve fuel. When shut off, an engine burns no fuel and emits zero harmful emissions. New for 2018, the SEL trim level joins S, SE and Titanium Ford Escape. It features leather-trimmed seating, power liftgate, heated exterior mirrors, signature LED lighting, SYNC 3 with a SYNC Connect 8-inch display and reverse sensing system. SE series gets front heated cloth seats, roof side rails and perimeter alarm. Escape Titanium gets 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, navigation system, enhanced active park assist and high-intensity discharge headlamps. The standard rearview camera carries over for 2018. Fold down both rear seat backs for a flat load surface and 68 cu.-ft. of total cargo space. Or fold down one of the 60/40 split rear seat backs and still have room for one or two passengers. If carrying small items, leave both seat backs up for 34 cu.-ft. of cargo space. For more space, available roof rack side rails with available crossbars carry more cargo, especially items that don't transport easily inside. The available Intelligent 4WD System continuously monitors traction and road conditions every 16 milliseconds. It can transfer torque from front wheels to rear wheels as needed to ensure a precise blend of handling and traction at all times.
