Months ago I stopped to see a used Tahoe parked by Iowa St. that caught my eye. I was lucky enough that Joe Higdon strolled out to chat with me and take it on a test drive. But I wasn't ready to buy, and I wasn't sure I wanted a Tahoe. Months went by.... every 6 weeks or so, I would get an email from Joe with a very thoughtful, "Hey, if you haven't found what you're looking for yet, here are a few new-used SUVs that are on our lot." Occasionally, I would reply with a question, but not always. So when it was time to get serious and buy, I wanted to work with Joe! He had gained my comfort, trust, and confidence. He helped me identify options that would meet my specific needs (both my kids play very large instruments in the school orchestra), and my goals for price, year, milage, and cup holders! ;) We drove 4 or 5 options-- all every different, but all within my desired specs. I never felt pressured to do anything I wasn't ready to do. My spouse and I spent a few more hours that Saturday test-driving all over town-- just to make sure we knew what was out there. We came back to Crown intending to window shop a bit more. It was just after closing time and all the staff were leaving for the evening. But when Joe saw us, he said, "come look what just came in" and showed us a 4-Runner that had come in on trade that afternoon. He drove the 4-Runner to my work on Monday so I could test drive it (after Crown had completed their inspections), and it was love at first spin around the block! Joe worked around my busy schedule, chatted in the backseat with my 13-year-old kid who was drug along on the test drives, and made the buying process smooth and painless over the course of a few days as my hectic schedule allowed. (And the little gift bag of chocolates from his wife helped tide me over when I was getting a little hungry!) 5 stars for Joe Higdon!!! (And, if you're a female buyer who is skeptical that a male salesperson will treat you with respect, go meet Joe! You won't find any mansplaining or condescension with him!)
I was looking nationally for a specific used Volvo and saw one for sale at Crown Toyota. Living in Denver, I was a bit skeptical of buying a car so far away that I'd not seen in person plus the fact that I would be buying this Volvo from a Toyota dealer, and not a Volvo dealer. I contacted the dealership and was put in touch with Van Thompson who could not have been more helpful. Although there were a lot of pictures online already, I asked him to take more pictures and focus in on any nicks, flaws, etc. He was pretty honest when he sent me more pictures and said he couldn't find anything to focus his pictures in on! I was also reassured that they put ALL their used cars through the same detail checks as they do their used Toyota cars. We flew to Kansas City and Van was kind enough to pick us up at the airport and drive us the hour to the dealership. The car was in beautiful condition, it was a great price, and the paperwork was a breeze. Adam was super helpful with all my warranty questions and we drove the car away after roughly 45 minutes. I would highly recommend Van Thompson and this dealership. I'm a firm believer that being honest, courteous, and helpful will always pay in the long run....and these folks certainly reflect those ideals!
David W. is one of the most genuine and kind salesman I have ever worked with. My mom, who is very skeptical of salesman, was over the moon and so appreciative of him as he did his best to find us a car that was affordable, but also fit her vision. I cannot say enough good words about this man. Crown Toyota is lucky to have such an amazing person to represent them. If I could give more stars I would.
