I recently purchased a vehicle from Parkway Ford, Pampa TX in August. I purchased a Ford Explorer ST for a hell of a deal. The customer service was excellent, all communication was effective and clearly communicated by the sales rep. Brian Burkhalter as he was able to work with me and my bank from out of state. At the time when I just purchased the vehicle, Ford Dealerships issued a stop sale on selected Ford Explorers due to a safely recall on the backup cameras. The dealership informed me that they could not release the vehicle to me until there was a permanent fix for the backup camera recall. From late August to early October, Brian would keep me updated weekly with any information or updated news on the completion of the safety recall. The issue was fixed early October, and I was finally scheduled to pick up the new vehicle on October 13th. On October 9th I receive a call from Ryan Furstenfeld, he informed me he recently became the new GM for the Dealership, followed by he had some bad news to bring to me. He informed me that the vehicle I purchased was not able to be picked up, for it had an insurance claim pending on it due to Hail Damage. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, nor could I keep calm. Out of frustration and stress, I yelled at Ryan Furstenfeld over the phone and Blamed the whole dealership and the previous G.M. as to why this was not communicated earlier. Respectfully Ryan communicated everything that happened, and listened to my frustrations. At the end of our Conversation he gave his word to make everything right. Immediately Ryan started looking for the exactly color, make and model I had originally purchased to make everything right. Within a day or two Ryan was able to find the exact same vehicle within the state of TX, he rushed to get it transported and delivered to the dealership in order to keep my original pick up date of the 13th. Ryan worked directly with my bank to update the vin and communicate what happened with the previous deal. Ryan honored the previous purchase amount and sold the new vehicle for that. On October 13th I picked up the vehicle, the delivery was late but the dealership stayed open after hours and ensured the vehicle came in and I was to take possession of the car. I know the dealership could have handled my situation differently, and paid off my original vehicle and sent me off but I would like to thank Ryan and Brian for going above and beyond and truly making the situation right, For honoring their word and at the end of the day putting the customer first. Their actions are what most dealerships should strive to be like.
