We live in Canada. Last July we were visiting my sister in Santa Barbara, when the DEF system in our Mercedes Sprinter RV faulted and we got the warning of 'only 10 more starts.' Of course it was a Friday, and we worried that we couldn't get it fixed before the engine shut down. Calling around, we found that M-B Oxnard was the nearest dealer that would service a Sprinter van. After explaining our situation the dealer actually brought in a technician on the next day - Saturday to squeeze us in. The service advisor kept me well informed about progress throughout the day. Although the repair should have been covered by warranty, because it was a Canadian vehicle in the USA, the computer program would not allow the warranty. But the 'fine print' suggested that it would eventually be covered, though I had to pay for the repair on that Saturday. The service advisor kept working on the issue for the next two weeks, and eventually it was covered and I was refunded the payment. I did not expect the extra work done on my behalf after payment was made. Kudos to all involved.
