The late-1983 introduction of the all-new fourth-generation (C4) Corvette was a landmark in automotive history; one so highly anticipated that the new car was released as a 1984 model, with the 1983 model year omitted. GM Chief Engineer Dave McLellan oversaw the new Corvette's development, which began with concept drawings penned in 1976. While clearly identifiable as a Corvette, the new design was less ornamental and far more aerodynamic and purposeful. The new Corvette's all new chassis utilized front and rear mono-leaf springs, precise rack-and-pinion steering gear, and the independent rear suspension utilized five locating links. The Corvette continued to use four-wheel disc brakes, and new aerodynamic alloy wheels were mounted with Goodyear's all-new "Gatorback" unidirectional radial tires. Power was provided by Chevrolet's 350 CI V-8, initially equipped with Cross-Fire throttle-body fuel injection, carried over from 1982. Performance was a leap forward, with 155 mph on tap and grip measuring over 0.90 g, making the new Corvette a true contender with European exotics including the Ferrari 308, Lotus Esprit Turbo, and both Porsche's 911 and 928.Refinements came quickly, with the L98 Tuned-Port Injected 350 engine, which added 25 horsepower, 40 pounds-feet of torque, and improved fuel economy by 1985. Roller valve lifters debuted for 1987 to bring total output to 240 horsepower. No longer a contender, the Corvette had by this time become the standard to which other sports-car manufacturers aspired.Resplendent in its White paint finish over Red leather upholstery, this top-notch 1990 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is offered in exceptional and virtually flawless condition with just one owner from new and 18k miles at the time of writing. The potent 350 CI Tuned Port Injection V-8 engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Options are many, starting with Corvette Preferred Equipment Group #1, including electronic air conditioning, a six-way power driver's seat, and a Delco-BOSE music system including an electronically tuned AM/FM stereo radio with seek-scan, a stereo cassette tape player, and digital clock. Other choice options include the White auxiliary removable hardtop, selective ride and handling, Red leather adjustable Sport bucket seats, a CD player, an engine oil cooler, and performance axle ratio. Performance radial tires and 17-inch ventilated Corvette alloy wheels finish this clean and virtually impeccable 1990 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible nicely. What a great place. They have a lot of restauration capabilities, body shop and frame rack. Impressive.
My 1983 Fiat Spider had pointless debt removal, the paint wet sanded and polished here. The tired, black paint now looks fantastic. I have had several cars sold, repaired, restored or polished here. The work is always top notch and Tom explains everything that was done to your vehicle. I highly recommend The Last Detail.
Like a kid in the candy store, I press my nose against the window and salivate, looking at all these beautiful and beautifully restore vehicles. Tom is a true connoisseur of vintage motor cars, and a guy you can trust. Their service and maintenance are beyond compare. It is worth coming in just to take a look around. Be prepared- you will fall in love with something there.
