Really couldn't have asked for a better experience. Buying a used car is a bit like thrift shopping- some will be hidden gems and some won't, and it's on the customer to distinguish between the two. The young gentleman manning the lot were very polite and helpful without being overbearing. I had a mobile mechanic come to the lot to do a very thorough PPI (pre purchase inspection) which helped me decide if the 2006 Honda Element I was looking at would be safe to drive over 2 hours home. I did decide to go for it, knowing that I would be allotting a part of my budget towards repairs, which was able to be fairly accounted for in haggling the final price. Everyone was very kind and even stayed past closing to finish the paperwork and answer my questions. The only thing that I could maaaybe complain about, has to do with the title, and more than anything this is a PSA to not worry if you find yourself in my position: When filling out the paperwork, one part was a commitment by the dealership to get the title of the car to me within a certain timeframe. I hadn't heard anything from them and when the deadline was a few days away, I gave them a polite call to check in about it. They were very prompt and sent out the title with a tracking number and it got to me on the deadline. All in all, a solid experience. New cars, used cars, clown cars- they're all going to have quirks and need maintenance. Research what you want to get and know what good and bad things to look for when checking out a listing. Be prepared to spend money on repairs. Have realistic expectations. Be kind.
