Edit (8/30/2022): I bumped the rating from 3 stars to 4 stars. I’m not sure how to reply to curtis’s response so I’m just editing my initial review. I appreciate the transparentness from Curtis’s response! It has provided clear insight on the situation and has answered some questions too. I do however recommend Curtis for any auto business as they are very flexible and helpful. Thank you once again for your response! Honest Review: I like Curtis Auto when I done business with him nearly a year ago. Very nice guy and friendly. I bought a vehicle from him and have learned a lot since then. The reason for the 3 star review is because I believe now I was done wrong in terms of pricing. I bought a 2012 Dodge Challenger. Super clean car for sure! At the time I only had bought one other car 3rd party and never dealt with any kind of dealership before. Didn’t understand to verify pricing through KBB and to check the car fax for any accidents. The asking price for the challenger from him was around $17k (totaled out to be nearly $20k after taxes). It was stock other than a CAI, muffler delete, aftermarket resonators. At the time, I figured it was normal pricing. After buying it and discovering the car fax history (which he never told me about) I found out it had two moderate accidents at the front driver side and the driver side door was replaced. The front bumper is a little warped and the brackets connecting the bumper and the fenders together are broke. Which in turn shows huge gaps between body panels. The driver side door was poorly painted and had chipping showing a lime green paint underneath in small areas around the mirror. The driver side mirror wasn’t correctly hooked up so it wasn’t heated like the passenger side door was. Along with the orange peeling as well. The car also has a exhaust leak somewhere that’s been there since I bought it. Not to mention there is orange stains all over the engine bay where someone I’m guessing opened the coolant reservoir while it was hot. Been there since I got it. Now now I fully understand that from him, you’re buying as-is. I’m just frustrated that I wasn’t made aware of the accidents and the issues when I asked if there was anything wrong with it at the time of buying and the fact it was priced the same (or more) as challengers of the same year that didn’t have accidents (I done some looking around). You would think with with two accidents that it would be way cheaper than $17k asking! Now I’ve got $20k in this car and when trying to trade it in I’m getting offered $8k to $11k! But that was my fault for not doing any research, and not knowing what to look for at the time. It’s unfortunate. However, curtis himself is a very friendly guy and will do what he can to help you out.
Jeff was an absolute pleasure to work with and his wife Sherry, is an absolute sweetheart. I did all my business with him over Facebook as I came across a 14’ Jeep Patriot on marketplace that he posted and I instantly fell in love with it. I traveled from Tennessee to check it out in person and took it out for a spin. He was very transparent and upfront about minor cosmetic flaws that come with a used vehicle before I even committed to purchasing and gave me plenty of space and time to look over the Jeep. She drove flawlessly and was such a beauty in person, I knew she was meant to be mine. I fell in love even more with her when I found out she had a sunroof lol. He also accepted my pre-approved auto loan through my bank and was very patient with that whole process! I definitely recommend Curtis Auto if you are in the market to purchase a new vehicle.
I cannot say enough kind words about Jeff, and Sherry. They helped me and my wife out with a new storage shed as ours had a tree fall and crush it. The buildings are top quality and they are super friendly, transparent, and will do whatever they can to help their clients out. Besides all that they were just super nice and a pleasure to get to know. If you need a Vehicle, a trailer, or a storage shed I would not buy anything before you speak to these folks!!!!!!!
