The purchase/leasing of any vehicle is a process. Writing a few generic sentences about my experience doesn’t show respect to the person who worked with me and future customers who may find themselves in the same spot I was. So, my extended narrative is what you get. I had a difficult ask. A 2024 Colorado ZR2 that wasn't bloated with packages and options that were of no use to me. Fortunately for me, I was introduced to Scott Van Riper. Scott responded to my initial inquiry about 4 weeks ago. We talked briefly, and he confirmed some details and my timeline. From moment one, he was upfront and honest. Above all, that is what I was looking for in a person. Fast forward 2 or so weeks, and I decide to visit the dealership on a whim during a break in my afternoon. I didn't mention I'd be stopping by, as my only interest was browsing. At this time, I was working with several dealerships in my search and honestly didn't remember who I'd spoken with at any dealership. He introduced himself after giving me 5-10 minutes to walk the lot undisturbed. He even took a moment to compliment me on my current ride: a 2021 Tacoma TRD Off-Road. I told him what I was looking for, and he immediately called me by my name and told me he knew exactly who I was and what I was looking for. It says a lot about a person who, weeks later, can recall that at a moment’s notice. We chatted for a few minutes, and he was very clear when he said ZR2 production was stressed and that getting something with the specs I insisted on in a timeframe of only 10 weeks was going to take some luck. That’s all I needed to hear to confirm that Scott was the right person to work with. He set the expectations and recommended a plan. I’d scour the web for available Colorados, and he would work with networked dealerships across the region in hopes of finding a match. He respected that I wanted an active role in the process and that two heads working on this gave us the best chance for success. It took about a week, but he located one he was confident would meet my expectations. Did it match the exact specs I wanted? No. But it matched my list of most critical features and did not have the unnecessary bloat I was dead-set on avoiding. He didn’t try to sell me on it. He simply absorbed the information from our previous exchanges and demonstrated he was the exact person I thought he was when I decided he was the one to work with. He did not try to influence or steer me in any direction for even one moment. He demonstrated the type of character I respect and expected. I came down to check it out, and wouldn’t you know it, he’d found the one for me. Closed my deal on Friday, April 19th. One of the smoothest experiences I’ve had across the board. He was patient, didn’t pretend to know every answer to every question, spoke with the sales manager and the finance department to ensure the deal reflected my expectations, and worked with purpose and focus without rushing one step. My time is valuable. My time spent with Scott throughout this experience was time well spent and enjoyable. I’m grateful to be a new member of his network and to know I’m in good hands.

After a not so pleasant experience with another local dealership, I reached out to Spitzer in hopes to find an honest salesman who would actually listen to what I wanted and not make me feel like another number. In steps Scott Van Riper. I explained my situation to him and described the car I wanted and within minutes we had a match. He explained everything thoroughly including the available discounts, pricing, and options. He helped me find a brand new Trailblazer that fit my specific needs within my budget without trying to upsell or pressure me. They also didn’t low ball my trade-in like the other dealership I won’t name. It was an easygoing smooth process and I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Scott, Don Motz, Connie and the entire Spitzer team. I’d give them ten stars if it were an option.
