The Ford Mustang Boss Laguna Seca 302 was specifically designed for those who loved the racetrack and did not treasure creature comforts that much. Ford credited the new versions with extra body stiffness, a firmer chassis setup, and an aerodynamics package, which was carried over from the Ford Racing Boss 302R racing car. Ford chose the Laguna Seca as part of the name of this version because that is the racetrack where the Mustang Boss 302 won the Trans-Am season in 1970. Also at the rear, Ford mounted a Torsen helical limited-slip differential. Huge cooling ducts for the front brakes and a chassis stiffening redcross X-brace instead of the rear seats, plus transmission oil cooler scoops, were on the list of the mechanical mods. Ford produced 750 Laguna Seca units, all built at the Flat Rock plant in Michigan. This car was loud. Literally and figuratively, both. I began searching for a Buick and found one listed with a price that seemed too good to be true, considering the mileage and the appearance based on several pictures from America's Xtreme (AX) Auto's website. I was a bit apprehensive at first, after given the fact that the vehicle I was considering came with a rebuilt/branded title. However, my sales rep, Mathew (Matt) gave a very informative and detailed description of the business model used by AX Autos. Their selective process combined with a skilled refurbish technique, results in a quality vehicle that you can place side by side against the same model vehicle that you would find in another dealership, and you would be hard pressed to see any differences. Matt was extremely attentive to all my questions and did not push me in any buying direction. I was free to walk the lot and take my time reviewing several vehicles.
