We worked with Freedom Motors in Battle Creek, Michigan to convert our GMC Acadia for wheelchair accessibility, and I cannot say enough good things about the experience. They completed a rear-entry, half-cut accessible conversion that preserved the front and middle rows completely intact—something that was incredibly important to our family. The conversion feels seamless and OEM-quality, not like an afterthought or compromise. The vehicle drives beautifully, and the workmanship is outstanding. I especially loved working with Tom Yingling, Mobility Specialist at Freedom Motors USA, Inc. Tom was knowledgeable, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure this conversion met our needs. He made a complex process feel clear and manageable, and his communication throughout was excellent. This vehicle has already made a meaningful difference for our son and our family. I’m including a video with this review to show the finished result, because seeing it really tells the story. If you are considering an accessible vehicle conversion and want it done right the first time, I highly recommend Freedom Motors.
Update (October 2025): I recently contacted the service department because a backup sensor had become loose and dislodged, and the experience was just as excellent as when I bought the vehicle. Shout out to Christine Fox, who was absolutely phenomenal to work with. She was friendly and efficient in authorizing the repair work at the mechanic of my choosing, and even had the invoice paid before I could pick up my car! It was a seamless experience, and it’s great to see the same level of care and professionalism across the entire dealership. Still a 5-star experience! I had an amazing experience purchasing my first accessible vehicle — a 2025 Hyundai Palisade — from Freedom Motors. Brookes Osborne, my sales specialist, was outstanding! He was professional, thorough, and always available to answer my many questions throughout the entire process starting with conversion all the way through to delivery. Communication was top-notch, even providing pictures during the conversation at my request! Brookes made everything feel smooth and stress-free. Big thanks also to Jeremy in Finance, who made sure every detail was clearly explained and handled in my best interest — especially important with such a significant investment. Freedom Motors isn’t just selling cars — they’re providing invaluable mobility solutions for the disabled community. Their work truly makes a difference, and they do it with integrity and care. (And with sharp looking SUVs) ? Highly recommended this amazing dealership team!
We worked with Ray on the purchase of our first adapted mini-van. It can be difficult to understand where to start, and figure out what makes sense for our situation. We found the major manufacturers were unwilling to deviate from one or two configurations, but Freedom was willing to work with us to get the van that made sense for our family. Now the hard part, we were based in Virginia and Freedom is based in Michigan. We were looking at the the prospect of a major purchase sight unseen which caused me a lot of anxiety. Ray identified a van with most of the mods we were looking for and drove from Michigan to our home in Virginia. That level of customer service is unheard of. Today or at any point. We really appreciated Ray coming down, walking us through the van and making us comfortable with the purchase.
