I am in the military, originally from Virginia Beach and stationed overseas in Japan. I tried to work through my hometown dealer, Checkered Flag BMW, Casey BMW in Newport News, as well as the Richmond Midlothian BMW dealer in an attempt to order and purchase a custom-built X3. Only the Richmond BMW on Broad St—a dealership 1.5 hours away from my home—was willing to assist me. A process that was originally frustrating became so simple and straightforward after working with my dealer, Steve Lerner. Not only did my car get ordered within 24 hours, he also stayed in constant communication to ensure I had everything I would need to complete my purchase immediately when I returned home, and he took hours of his time to provide a tutorial on all of my car’s features before completing the sale. The level of support and service I received from Steve and the staff at Richmond BMW was UNMATCHED! Everyone from the manager to the other sales staff to my financial rep knew who I was and came to say hello and converse and congratulate me on my purchase. Steve Lerner and the rest of the team at the Richmond BMW West Broad location was the most professional, easiest, stress free group of individuals I've ever had the opportunity to work with. I do not purchase used vehicles often so anyone that has to take the time out of their day to sit down and acquire another vehicle,I highly recommend Steve and his team. I was one of those naive electric car buyers who didn't research the product enough before I had purchased it. New EV owners hopefully will realize as I didn't when these cars have a dead battery (not the main hi output battery, but just the 12 volt battery that all vehicles have) your EV will completely sit still and will not even go into neutral therefore if the battery has low voltage in this case 5 out of 12 volts, not even a jump start would power the vehicle up enough to get the car into neutral which can only be mobilized by a wheel dollies so the vehicle can be hoisted to the flat bed of a tow truck. Steve and his team were very punctual and very responsive with allocating the service department to ensure that upon the vehicles arrival they could assess and instantly diagnose the problem. (A text message was even sent keeping me update, very new age.) They stars were in alignment that day and the used vehicle that was transported from Midlothian BMW was personally delivered to W. Broad for my test drive. With the most professional and stress free, no pressure approach, I was sold before I even saw the vehicle I was going to purchase. If you need to buy a car, see Steve and the team, you'll be assured the most transparent transaction you'll ever have. The sales manager was patient with any antics pitched for a lower price and even the closing Manager who sells gap insurance at the end of the transaction was brief and knew exactly where I stood and made things efficiently and as convenient as possible. Now I'm convinced and understand the reasoning for the multitude of the decorative printing and stickers throughout the dealership stating Processing Fee of $579. Thanks again Steve for your help.
