Just bought another car there for my daughter, the third one from him. Good to deal with.
Very helpful people willing to work with you. Not only do they maintain they're vehicles, you will be walking into a time capsule of museum quality of Americana for free. We closed the deal within an hour and were on our way as it should be. No added last minute charges like so many other dealerships.
I first met Ron about 8 years ago. To be honest, at first I thought him to be a little gruff. I didn't go to by a car at that time, I went to see if he could assist me in building a forge out of a semi wheel, witch needed a 3" hole cut into it's side. I didn't have the equipment to do so. He was busy under the hood of a car, but came out to my truck to let me show what I needed. He told me to leave it in a certain place and when he could find the time he would do it, but it may take a long time as he had service piled up that needed done first. I left my number and the wheel. The first thing the next morning, Ron called for me got come get the wheel. I had no idea what it would cost and just hoped I had enough cash in pocket. When I got there, I found the wheel done with a perfect hole. He asked it that would work for me and I told him it was just what I needed. He picked it up and put it in the bed of my truck and said, "there you go." I asked him how much I owed and his reply was don't worry about it. A gruff man, but a heart of gold! Not long after, I purchased a used car from him. He took my offer which was lower than his price. I did not purchase a warranty, but a few months later I had a major breakdown. I had it towed to his place in Brookfield. The car had thrown a cylinder and the motor was shot. I knew I was in for a very expensive engine replacement. I asked him for an estimate and he said he would find an engine and call me back. I didn't hear from him for a couple days. But then received a message to come over to his shop. When I got there, I found that he had went ahead with the job of putting a engine in without calling to let me know the cost. I was burning up with rage and ready to tell him I never authorized the repair! That's when he told me that there was no way for him to predict such a catastrophic failure, and that he was very sorry. Keep in mind that I bought this car (as is) without a warranty. The job took two days for his guys to install the motor, which actually had 40K less miles on it than the one that I bought! He asked me to pay for a small part of the labor, and nothing else! I was touched by his generosity so much, it was all I could do hold back a few tears. Ron and I went into his office, where again he told me that he sold me the car, {a very clean Cadillac SRX} in good faith. And he did all he could to help me out because he was not a thief, and he was sick over the motor throwing a cylinder only a few months after he sold it to me. He asked for $200 to help him defir some of his expenses. The car was now in better shape than when I bought it! And all he wanted was $200 less than an 10th of the cost of the work he's done ! That was less than a tenth of the cost of labor alone! CARSII was not responsible for any of this, and he was in no obligation to me whatsoever! Yes, Ron is a bit gruff at times, that is until you know him. An honest man that went far above and beyond to get me back in my car. He is a rarity in used car dealers. He is honest. What more could you ask? I know I'll be buying cars there from that day on! And in closing this review, I would like to comment with his right hand, Rosie. I lovely woman with a disposition that makes you feel you've known her for years. She is also just a genuine nice and caring lady.
