CHEVROLET VAN NUYS has refined the long and complex experience of buying or leasing a vehicle. Here's how our encounter went. THE INTRODUCTION: Their state-of-the-art showroom is an expansive joy. Balloon bouquets, suspended by nearly invisible wires, seemingly float above beautifully detailed cars and trucks. (Love the Corvette.) Comfortable couches and chairs are grouped for conversation. Sales meetings occur at small tables placed throughout the display floor. Free Starbucks hot drinks and chilled bottled water are close by. Bathrooms are sparkling clean. Everything is ADA compatible. THE PRESENTATION: Felipe, the salesperson assigned to show us cars, demonstrates an impressive knowledge of automobles. As we are looking for an electric vehicle, he showed us the Chevrolet Equinox EV. It's a relatively inexpensive electric SUV with, at least to me, complex controls. Felipe is friendly, knowledgeable, and generous with his time. Throughout our "walk-a-round" and then during the test drive, he familiarized us with the EV's many features and controls. The cost of the vehicle was discussed. My wife and I felt no pressure to reach a deal. MAKING THE DECISION: After returning home we considered the Equinox, its features, and the deal offered. Later that day, we called Felipe and accepted the offer. THE CLOSING: A couple of days later Felipe introduced us to Bernie, the financial person. His office is an electronic marvel. The desktop is a giant computer screen. Pressing a button, Bernie rotates the image so sometimes it's displayed upright for us, and sometimes it's upright for him. It's cool. You read and sign the license and purchase agreements on the glass screen. Each step of the closing is explained understandably. It took about an hour to complete the transaction. We are supplied with both electronic and paper copies of all transaction agreements. THE DELIVERY: As it was raining when our SUV was delivered, we inspected it under the building's canopy. Our Equinox EV is delivered scratch and dent free. Felipe offered us a free carwash when the rain cleared. STUFF: A few days later we returned to the dealership for a follow-up. Felipe again reviewed our Equinox's features and taught us a few new tricks. ...and the Chevrolet Equinox EV, we call her "Black Beauty," got a bath.

Felipe was an awesome salesman. I came to find a used car on a bit of a short deadline and Felipe answered all of my questions. He found the perfect car for me within my budget and he helped me get the right kind of financing. I was extremely satisfied with how well everybody at the dealership operated. Everyone from the receptionist, to the salesman, to the financing guy, Bernie... Everyone was honest and made the process extremely easy. I highly recommend you check out the dealership. When I'm ready for my next vehicle, I am definitely coming back.

Hovig really made the car buying experience enjoyable. He was very personable with my family and made us feel appreciated for making our purchase of a new vehicle. Hovig was also a good negotiator when it came to the final sales price which I greatly appreciated.
