I had a great experience purchasing my BMW from Sewickley BMW. JD was helpful throughout the entire process, from the initial phone call to picking up the vehicle. We built a custom X3 and JD was so knowledgeable about all the different options and features. He was also easy to get a hold of and quick to answer questions which was so appreciated. I would highly recommend him and the dealership as a whole!
I might be the first to leave a review that is not a customer. (YET!) I live in Beaver County and wanted a particular used BMW which I found in Ohio. Ohio does not do state inspections for PA obviously and I did not feel comfortable taking my car anywhere but a BMW dealer. I was lucky enough to get an appointment right away for inspection. To my surprise, even though I did not buy from them, they offered me a loaner vehicle while they worked on my car. I chose to drop off my car the night before and have my wife pick me up.They were due to close shortly and I didn't expect to talk to anyone but the gentleman was still there and invited me in to fill out some forms. After going through the forms, he asked for my plate number, which I had not received yet from the state. He was not able to perform the state inspection but offered a complimentary inspection to check out the hoses, etc.. I've worked in the car business for years and I could not believe how good they treated someone who did not purchase from them. Everyone was so polite to me and my wife who showed up even later than me. They are first class all the way! I will be buying my next vehicle from them and I will be getting this BMW serviced by them as well. Great experience.
TLDR; Buying cars from “Car people” is vastly superior to dealing with the headache and run around of dealing with the usual car salesman. I had been in the market for a new car for the wife who has always had a thing for the Audi S5, me being me I talked her into exploring the RS5 because if we were going to get her a fun car why not a REALLY fun car. The search had been ongoing for about 3 months and consisted of a series of disappointing interactions with individuals and dealers everything from hiding cosmetic damage, not understanding if the car was tuned or modified, to people who didn’t even know about the car beyond the make and Model. Then I saw one turn up at Sewickley, though not the first color choice it checked the boxes and I decided to go take a look… When I arrived at the dealer, I bumped into Ken Lynch who was walking out to greet me as I pulled up, I let him know that I was looking at the RS and he promptly called to have it brought down to the store (The car was being detailed offsite). It only took about 15 minutes or so for the car to arrive during which time we naturally started talking about cars, and all I can say is it was basically the same type of conversation I would have with other car enthusiasts (Opinions, debate, broad knowledge, just plain fun) Car arrives and it is exactly as advertised in the listing, I evaluated the color, wheels, options, etc.. and said I would bring the wife back on Monday so that she could take a look. I did state that when I returned I would be interested in where the car came from, if there were tunes/mods on it, and if they had any additional information about it. I didn’t need to wait long because as we were walking back into the store we bumped into Scott (Sales Manager), Ken rattles off my questions to Scott who literally gives me the life story of who traded it, for what, and a full run down about everything they knew about the car, including the readout from the technicians… and then the three of us had another car enthusiast discussion. After the test drive and first look on Monday we agreed to line up the transaction and close on Wednesday. We returned to the dealership on Wednesday to go through the formalities to find the car inside waiting for us. Ken spent no less than 40 minutes explaining every single feature, option, and setting of the car before even talking about closing the transaction (i.e. he knew the car). Once we moved over to talk to Armenia in finance it was more of the same, she was a car-girl who was very knowledgeable, who didn’t engage in the fake sales tactics like others in dealer finance she just laid everything on the table and explained the options and let us decide. It was straight forward, easy to understand, and fair. My only complaint… is we had to drive home in the rain that day (but that is on us for being unwilling to wait)
