If Google allowed fractional stars, I would award Mercedes-Benz of Spokane 4.8. Unfortunately that's not the case so while not deserving of five stars, four is a little harsh for what I'm about to describe. Traveling in my Sprinter camper van I needed a B service. With the additional differential and transfer case fluid exchange, this was a $2,200 maintenance call. I arrived unannounced, and unscheduled. Even though service was being scheduled two weeks out Amber ( Amber Maddox), managed to fit me in 5 days later. So I spent the time mostly in Coeur d'Alene, but also spent an afternoon in Spokane. I didn't mind, it's a beautiful area and I was getting my B service done before the annoying service service messages started blocking the view of the rest of my dash. So the dealership is immaculate, grounds well maintained interior well maintained amenities excellent. Staff friendly and attentive. No complaints whatsoever. That said there were three minor items that have caused me too lower from a five star experience. The first minor item was a screw was left completely untightened on the engine air filter cover. Second item was that my tire pressure monitoring sensors on the front wheels were not tightened after being loosened. There was no need to loosen these as rotation was not part of the service. I could have lost the sensors at about $60 a piece. The next item is the most serious because it is cost me a lot of time. As part of B service, I had the engine oil and filter changed. The oil was over filled. I checked the oil level. Periodically while traveling and when I saw that I said to myself, oh this is going to be a problem. And sure it has been. It's been 10 days and 2500 miles and the excess oil has still not burned off. I have had to pull over rapidly and wait for the engine to cool down and the oil to level out before proceeding at least half dozen times. In Montana leaving a car wash, the curb was too sharp of an angle and when my dual rear axle hit, that hard bounce caused the splash in the lubrication system and the message came up I had to sit and wait 20 minutes before it would go away and I could continue my journey. As I write this I am sitting on a gravel patch on the side of highway 52, a Mountain Road just north of Mount Airy North carolina. The steep grade forcing the oil against the sensor and I get the message that I must reduce my oil level immediately. A pain in the butt. I could understand, not appreciate any more though, an overfill from a non Mercedes location; a place that is not familiar with Sprinter oil changes. I expect the precise oil level however, from Mercedes-Benz well that's my praise and my rant. In another 10 minutes perhaps I can continue on my way but, I have another mountain to climb and that means another mountain to go down abd probably another emergency pullover.
I had a fantastic experience with Mercedes in Spokane yesterday. We are considering buying a Mercedes (from a different dealer) and we brought it in to get it checked out before we made our final decision. Amber was friendly and efficient getting the process started. I did not have an appointment but they were able to fit me in which was great. Sal, Wyatt and Raul were the team of techs that inspected the car. Friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Sal walked me through every step, shared his concerns, and pointed out several areas of concern. Fortunately there were no major mechanical issues but there were a couple of problems we would never been aware of had they not done such a thorough inspection. They even wrote up a report of the concerns and recommendations for repair/replacement. I was able to take this to the dealer selling the car and ask they fix the items prior to purchase. Likely saved us a lot of money. The dealership itself is clean and well stocked with goodies and all of the staff I interacted with have mastered their customer service skills. I would not hesitate to take my vehicle to them for service! Great dealership.
We were on our way to pick up a used Mercedes for my son at another lot in Spokane Valley. We decided to stop in here on a whim. I'm so glad we did. Robert and Lincoln got us into a much nicer car than the other Meredes we've been looking at. They gave us a wonderful deal on it too. Robert was super knowledgeable about the brand. My son loves the car. It has more features in it than any other car I've ever seen. Robert and Lincoln were so easy to work with. Everyone at the dealership was super nice. We will be back, for sure. Thanks for everything!
