So my 2012 Toyota Camry was having issues from shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. My local mechanic pointed out that all that’s needed was most likely a transmission code reset. Upon taking it to the local Toyota dealership that charged me 150$ just to look at it then told me I needed a brand new transmission for 6k!!! They said that a software reset won’t help and my local mechanic said that was BS and that I should try and bring it to another transmission specialist. After going to ANOTHER transmission specialist in Rahway they said that they can fix my transmission for 1.5k. This guy in Rahway told me just like the Toyota dealership that the transmission code reset won’t do anything and that it’s urgent I give them my money because my car can break down any minute. I didn’t want to give up and accept these answers. So one day I was driving home and saw Transmission and Car care center so I figured I stop in and tell him the issue. He explained that I most likely need to reset the transmission code and the Car should be fine. 3 Hours after bringing the car in Matt called me and said my car was ready. 100$ later my car is running smoothly and I am not having this issue. Thanks for saving me 2-6k Matt you are the best!
