Northland Auto Center Inc., was originally named Mark's HiWay Auto Sales as a nod to his father's dealership, HiWay Auto Sales in Pease, MN, which began in the early 1950s and continues to operate today. Mark Wolbert started his business primarily dealing with Porsche and Isuzu vehicles. Thanks to Auto Trader, buying interest came from all across the nation, and Mark often drove vehicles long-distance to his customers. Many of these were repairable vehicles, and Mark learned from his father the importance of doing the job well and never turning his back on a customer. In a rural community, bad news travels fast. Even one upset customer can turn an entire community away from a business with a poor reputation. At our dealership, we have always held the belief that everyone deserves our best work and honesty.
Over time, the team has grown, a new shop was built and we’ve thrived in our small town for nearly 40 years because we conduct our business under the "Golden Rule", "Treat others the way you want to be treated". Our customers love us, and many remain loyal for life, even when faced with long distances. When you visit our dealership, you’ll find a comfortable and clean waiting area, kind employees and, usually, some good company from our customers. We will tend to your needs promptly and take all the time needed as you drive, discuss and negotiate a fair deal.
After the sale, many of our customers return for life, buying vehicles and seeking service. Some families have bought well over 30 vehicles from us, live hours away, yet they return for service regularly. Others are entire states away. In 2017 we took an important step to grow our service and better support it through the ACDelco Preferred Service Center program. We’ve had all of our vehicle serviced at Northland. They do an excellent job! I had to take the car in for an oil change today and I had my two kiddos with me. The staff was really kind. Mark was especially nice and turned on the car video game so Joe (my son) could play that. Lincoln in the service department was also kind enough to pull the car out front and hold the doors, so I could get out to the car without too much hassle after the oil change was complete.
