Really couldn't have asked for a better experience. Buying a used car is a bit like thrift shopping- some will be hidden gems and some won't, and it's on the customer to distinguish between the two. The young gentleman manning the lot were very polite and helpful without being overbearing. I had a mobile mechanic come to the lot to do a very thorough PPI (pre purchase inspection) which helped me decide if the 2006 Honda Element I was looking at would be safe to drive over 2 hours home. I did decide to go for it, knowing that I would be allotting a part of my budget towards repairs, which was able to be fairly accounted for in haggling the final price. Everyone was very kind and even stayed past closing to finish the paperwork and answer my questions.
The only thing that I could maaaybe complain about, has to do with the title, and more than anything this is a PSA to not worry if you find yourself in my position:
When filling out the paperwork, one part was a commitment by the dealership to get the title of the car to me within a certain timeframe. I hadn't heard anything from them and when the deadline was a few days away, I gave them a polite call to check in about it. They were very prompt and sent out the title with a tracking number and it got to me on the deadline.

All in all, a solid experience. New cars, used cars, clown cars- they're all going to have quirks and need maintenance. Research what you want to get and know what good and bad things to look for when checking out a listing. Be prepared to spend money on repairs. Have realistic expectations. Be kind.

After reading the reviews of this place, I went to Purcell Auto on March 6th, 2025. I was in the market for a car for me, as I would be getting my license for the first time at 26. When we arrived, I was met by John who told us that if there were any cars we were interested to let him know. All cars on the lot, are on the website as well. So we looked around for a good while, found a few we liked and spoke to John. He was very upfront on what would need upgraded or fixed, offered us the car fax for any car we wanted to look at. After about an hour of walking around and chatting with John, we decided to test drive a 2016 Ford Fiesta. John handed us the keys, put the plate in, and let us go. When we came back from a very nice drive, we sat down and talked with John about our options. When we test drove it, the only issue we had was the passenger seatbelt being cut off. John was so wonderful in making sure the seatbelt was replaced and take care of properly. He assured me that they would replace it and they’d call me when it was ready. And sure enough, they called me,  IN LESS THAN A WEEK! I picked up my Fiesta the same day they called me.
Now, I’ve been driving this car for almost two months. I’ve had plenty of time for something to happen, if it were to happen. And the only thing that has happened, is I got one helluva great car that fit my budget and I was treated very well by the people at Purcell Auto Sales. I highly recommend Purcell if you’d like a very easy going, honest, and reliable way to secure your own car, perfect for your needs.

Great dealership. I bought a car from them about 3 weeks ago and it’s been great. They were open and honest about previous accidents/damage to the vehicle, and they sold it to me an outstanding price. The salesmen were kind and straight to the point, and I didn’t feel like I was being “begged” to buy a car, if that makes sense. As in they weren’t over the top in trying to sell to me to the point where I felt uncomfortable by it. Definitely check out this place if you’re in the market for a used car. I’m glad I did!
