Truly personal experience. My fiancée and I were traveling from Baltimore to smith mountain lake to get married when my truck started having issues. The truck could barely get over 40 mph and I was trailering my boat as well. My now wife, started looking up shops with good reviews when she found Surratt Auto. We pulled into the lot at 4:45pm and met Bill. We had to be at the lake the next day to set up the venue for the welcome party and wedding. Bill stayed late to store our boat in his gated garage area and gave us a loaner to drive all the way to the lake (this is unheard of from where I am from. It was 2 hours one way). Bill assured me he would do everything he could to repair the truck the next day. He even gave me a direct off hours number in case we had issues. The receptionist was awesome as well. My stress level was at 10/10 before pulling into Surratt. The next day bill contacted me early to let me know he would have the truck repaired that day. The professionalism, communication, and willingness to go above and beyond is unmatched to any auto service I have ever received.

Everyone here was very helpful and kind.  They also walked me through what happened, which was very helpful to understand what happened.  They even bought lunch as I was stranded without a working car.  Cannot reccomend enough!

We were on our way from Baltimore to Smith Mountain Lake for our wedding when my now husband's truck began to have problems with acceleration. We had to pull off of the highway and I found Surratt Auto Center through a Google maps search. We have a trusted mechanic shop back home -- however, this wasn't an option since we were hours from home. Most people feel a little hesitant when having to use a new mechanic shop. Will they do a good job? Will they charge a fair price? All of these thoughts were running through our heads when we walked into Surratt Auto. However, shortly after walking in we knew that we had made the right choice. Both Bill  and his front desk staff were friendly and professional. Even though their schedule was packed they told us that they would make room in the schedule to be able to take a look at the truck the following day. This was a real favor as we didn't show up at their shop until later afternoon.  Many other shops probably wouldn't have been able to fit us in for a couple of days.  My husband's truck was towing a boat and Bill offered to store the boat on site for us until he was able to fix the truck. Bill also gave us a loaner vehicle to take down to the lake. The truck I was driving was completely packed full of supplies for the welcome party and wedding (only the driver seat wasn't filled with stuff) so this saved my husband and I from having to empty out my truck's interior to make room for he and my stepdaughter. Bill provided us with a card that had the office phone number and also his personal number in case we had any issues after hours. Not only was Bill able to look at the truck the following day, he was also able to repair it the following day. So around 24 hours after dropping the truck off we were on our way to pick it up. My husband and I joke that while we were unlucky to have mechanical issues, we were truly lucky to have these mechanical issues only a couple of miles away from Surratt Auto. I don't think any other Auto Center would have taken care of us in the same way.  They made a super stressful situation a lot less stressful.
