This review has to be conducted in two parts: 1) the shopping and car buying experience and 2) the vehicle I chose, in an effort to be as fair as possible.

For #1, this was hands down the best car buying experience I have ever had. I have purchased numerous cars, and everything from the shopping experience to the transaction itself was the easiest, friendliest, and least pressured purchase I have had. Patrick was responsive, answered every question I had to the utmost of his ability, and he even went out of his way to hold the vehicle over the weekend before I could make a deposit. The transaction took no more than about 20 minutes, and I was on my way.

For 2, the vehicle I chose has some problems, which seems to be common from this dealership, but any reasonable customer has to have a realistic set of expectations about what they are getting when they select a vehicle. My vehicle was priced several thousand dollars below the market value, and other similar vehicles had issues like previous accidents and other issues. This particular truck had a clean title, was higher mileage, but structurally looked great. After owning it for a week, the main drive belt broke due to a locked up air condenser. Patrick made a statement during the car buying experience that this was a solid truck for the money, which I took to mean that, for the price I was paying, I was likely to incur some repair costs commensurate with the price of the vehicle. It would be absolutely unfair to try and hold his words against him for this issue because there is no way he could have known the air condenser would have given out, but it is an expected mechanical issue with a vehicle of this age and mileage. The suspension needs some work, but that is a maintenance issue and not something I could reasonably expect a dealership that has already priced a vehicle under market value to repair. Now, if I came to learn that a catastrophic failure of the vehicle happened, and it has been hidden from me in the sales process, I’d trust Taylor Investments to work with me for an amicable solution. But, I see some of the negative reviews are inherently unfair and holding them to a standard no used car dealership, particularly one that brokers in used work trucks, could realistically be held to. If I had truly been in the market for a pristine truck, I wouldn’t have been shopping for a 15+ year old truck. Even with the break down, I am still very satisfied with my experience with Taylor Investments. The truck was what I was shopping for, I believe they stayed true to their word, and I still think I got a great value for what I purchased, so long as I have realistic expectations of what I can purchase for that amount of money.
