Futura Trailers

Futura Trailers image

Brothers Glen and Jake Reid built Futura on a family legacy dating back to 1956 when their father began making trailers from home in Auckland, New Zealand. That venture eventually grew into the country’s largest boat-trailer operation. In 2010, the siblings transformed that heritage by founding Futura Trailers to tackle the pain of loading low-clearance cars. Their answer was the world’s first electronically actuated aluminum lowering trailer. Today, Futura’s lineup includes open lowering trailers like Super Sport, Pro Sport, and Club Sport, along with enclosed models such as Super Tourer and the ramp-style RT500. Built from anodized, weld-free 6005-T6 aluminum, designed in SolidWorks with FEA, and assembled in the USA with NATM-certified safety compliance, these trailers offer effortless loading, lightweight towing, and a premium experience for motorsport, classic car, and RV enthusiasts.
