Land Rover

Land Rover image

Land Rover began as a farm vehicle sketch on a Welsh beach in 1947. Designer Maurice Wilks adapted Jeep parts into a simple, sturdy prototype. The brand officially debuted its Series I at the Amsterdam Motor Show on April 30, 1948. That raw, utilitarian rig quickly earned a Royal Warrant and found fans in agriculture, military and remote expeditions. By the 1970s, Land Rover spun off its own company and introduced the Range Rover in 1970, blending off-road muscle with unexpected luxury. Land Rover’s core innovation is its permanent four-wheel-drive system. That tech made it the go-to for explorers and aid workers from the Sahara to the Amazon. The Defender cemented its reputation in harsh terrains. Today the lineup spans Discovery, Defender and four distinct Range Rover models. Each wears British craftsmanship and advanced hybrid or electric drivetrains. The brand now zeros in on electrification and premium 4×4s under the “Above & Beyond” ethos.
