5 star vehicle, 3 star transparency. Pros: Ended up with a beautiful vehicle, clean and well-maintained. Mike Sheppard was patient with my questions and thoroughly explained the features of the vehicle. He was also straightforward about payment after we started discussing. Cons: Multiple people knew ahead of time that I was coming from out of state and looking to negotiate. Waited until I saw the vehicle, asked me to make an offer, then said they don't negotiate at all. What? Very strange for a dealership. After a few hours of discussion, and despite offering to pay in full same-day, they ended up giving me 1% off. I feel a little used, like they felt I'd be willing to pay full price just because I came from farther away. Got the impression they wanted to milk my wallet. Also knew I planned to pay in full but failed to disclose until the end that they don't take out of state checks, can't put much on a credit card, and can't pay by debit. They had plenty of opportunity to disclose this before I visited, or to mention that they supposedly don't negotiate. Seemed excited to take my money until I discovered the limited payment options.
What a great experience ! We haven't bought a car since 2005, mostly dreading the whole experience. We just purchased a used vehicle. Kaylee was wonderful ! She really worked with us and made the whole transaction so easy. She is a very positive person with a great attitude toward people and her job. We were very comfortable talking with her and settling the deal. She went above and beyond to make sure our new vehicle was clean, and it was immaculate. We couldn't believe it was the same car!
