Subaru of South Hills is filled with friendly and helpful staff. My salesman Jay went above and beyond to get me into my new Forester. I would recommend for any friends or family. 10 times out of 10.

The actual service they perform is done correctly and in a reasonable time. However, deducting a star because they are overly focused on up-selling optional costly services as part of the complimentary "multipoint inspection".

We recently had a service completed that included a suggested list of optional/recommended services that was nearly $3000. All service departments try to earn more money by suggesting more work, and some of the suggestions I saw here were potentially valid, but many were entirely unnecessary.

-Replace my cabin air filter for $60. I had just replaced it myself a few months earlier for about $20. This particular service suggestion is very commonplace at all service departments.
-Remove "harmful musty odors" from my vent system for $90. I don't have any "harmful musty odors". No reason to suggest this.
-"Clean" my fuel injection system: $250. The engine starts and runs flawlessly. No reason to suggest this.
-Recharge my A/C: $300. The A/C is working without issue. No reason to suggest this.
There were several more.

I know this sort of thing is common to some degree at all dealership service departments, but this shop feels more aggressive with trying to generate optional work. The work they do is done well, but be prepared for a lot of up-selling.

I had a longer than expected "trade in for a new ride" experience at South Hills Suby. probably should have picked a Monday instead of a Friday. Oh well, done deal. The staff at South Hills is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and accommodating. The facility is quite impressive. you can tell that the staff takes pride in their work.
Anyway, my brand new 2024 Subaru Outback Touring XT with 46 miles on it, had a component failure within 48 hours. The heater blower motor had a grounding issue. The repair issue was resolved after a couple of trips to another Subaru dealership which was half the distance drive for me. The sales boss at South Hills, Mike Parr, I believe, felt terrible that the new ride had a repair issue practically off the lot. Mike very generously offered me an extended warranty as compensation for my trouble. I was very pleased with this gesture. Good business. I will definitely go back to South Hills in the future.

Yesterday I purchased a 2024 Subaru Forester from Subaru of South Hills and was extremely pleased with the entire process. I was assisted by Steve Wine in the sales department and Tyler Clay in the finance department. Both of them were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and personable. They went above and beyond to get me the best deal possible. Both guys are down to Earth, and each has a great sense of humor. I will definitely be returning to Subaru of South Hills for my next Subaru and will recommend them as much as possible. Thank you, everyone, for the fantastic service!
