My wife and I stopped at Volvo Cars Orland Park to take a look at an XC-90. They are one of the largest Volvo dealers in the area and after looking on their website they have a huge inventory on hand, and we did not want to order a vehicle.
Since Saturday is there busiest day specially around noon time, I decided to call a sales consultant and let him know we would be coming by and explained exactly what we were looking for, I thought this would save us a little time.
When we arrived on Saturday morning, we were greeted by Mr. Angel Aguilar, he actually had the car my wife had interest in right outside the door waiting to go for a test drive.
These new vehicles have a ton of technical features compared to our 10-year-old Lexus. From the moment we went outside he took his time and explained the exterior features of the vehicle, along with some of the extras that came installed as part of a package. Before we drove anywhere, he explained interior features of the cars dash so my wife would feel comfortable driving. It is a plugin hybrid with a lot of technology and driving modes on a large screen.
We went for a long drive, and he explained everything from power modes vs. battery only, or a combination of both for gas saving. Also, he answered all our questions regarding this vehicle, was totally informed and very knowledgeable.
My wife really liked the car and we knew there was not a lot of play on these cars, like the old days. He reassured us he would do his best, and see if there were any offers that we qualified for. To start with, at this time Volvo had just lowered their interest rate which was a good thing.
After the test drive, we told him what we wanted to pay. He talked to the manager and after a few conversations, we finally agreed on a price. Next came my trade, an older Lexus in at a Volvo dealer would be hard for them to sell. But I did not want to deal with selling outright I’ve been down that road before. Their initial offer was not acceptable, but Angel kept speaking with the sales manager until we both agreed, on a deal.
The final step was Business Manager, Mr. Fade Salama. He sat with us and explained different plans as far as service contracts and extended warranties that we might have interest in. He went over every one of them in detail, and when asked about each one he offered us his opinion from personal experience.
We didn’t realize how expensive they were but labor cost and parts is also high, and possibly go up in the future. We keep our cars for many years, so as Fade suggested go out as far as you can maybe with a 10-year plan. This kind of took us way above what we intended to pay, but he offered to talk to the manager and said “don’t worry we will do our best for you”. He is a very easy going and humble person, it was a really nice conversation.
Again after a few back-and-forth trips with the Sales Manager, they worked something out in the office to make it all come together. He said within 10 minutes I’ll be ready with the paperwork in my office.
My wife and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Mr. Angel Aguilar, and Mr. Fade Salama, and to have visited Volvo Cars Orland Park. Everyone there was very nice, easy going, low key not pushy, just willing to help and answer questions. I was very surprised even after the deal was done, they are still there for you.  Angel offered us to stop by anytime and he would go over the car electronics once again, and the programming of her phone to the vehicles systems. I would highly recommend just stopping by and chatting for a bit, maybe just going for a test drive, great people to deal with!
